| General Contract Agreement |
|
I agree to attend the Live and Learn Italian Program offered by Modern English, Inc., a Virginia State Corporation. The terms of the session are as follows.
1) Student is defined as person attending the Live and Learn Italian Program in the villa in Arba, Italy.
2) Instructor is defined as person conducting the Live and Learn Italian Program in Arba, Italy; providing the room, board, Italian lessons and activities.

1. Student will be given his or her room at the villa in Arba, Italy for two weeks. The program begins Monday mornings and ends Thursday afternoons. Although students may stay at the villa during the weekends, they are on their own each weekend except the first. An extra fee for the introductory weekend will be included in the total rate. Details of these extra services are below entitled "Introductory Weekend". The entire session including this Intro Weekend is from:
The villa will be available to student after 6 p.m. on Friday or Saturday. For details on the rooming arrangement, please refer to "Rooming Agreement".
2. The Italian language classes and cultural activities will be for the above weeks from Monday mornings to Thursday afternoons. These language classes and cultural activities will be offered for ten to twelve hours a week. For details on the Italian language lessons and cultural activities, please refer to "Italian Language Lessons and Activities". For details on the general course objectives, see "Course Description and Objectives", immediately following.
3. Meals will be provided from Monday mornings to Thursday afternoons for the above weeks. This includes four "serve yourself" breakfasts and lunches, and three hot cooked dinners. For details on boarding, please refer to "Boarding Agreement".
4. Students are given full use and enjoyment of the Rennaisance villa in northern Italy for the above weeks. For details on the conditions of the house, please refer to "Physical Conditions of the Villa".

6. Please read carefully all four divisions of this contract; "Room", "Board", "Italian Lessons and Activities", and "Physical Conditions of Villa", along with their specific additions, mentioned below. By signing this contract you will have agreed upon their terms. All of this information can be viewed by hitting their links on languagetravels.com. (Final update 3/2005)
7. An agreed sum of
for each week + Intro Weekend + Options is to be given as payment. To reserve this space and ensure this low price, a deposit of half the total amount must be paid promptly along with this signed contract. Sessions are booked on a "First come, first serve" basis. Instructor reserves the right to return a check if session is already booked at time of receipt, or if a minimum of 3 students is not reached. A confirmation e mail will be sent when booked. Please make all checks payable to Modern English, Inc. The balance is due five weeks before arrival date.
8. Money is not refundable except in cases of extreme emergency or severe illness. In these cases a half refund may be given, provided it occurs at least four weeks before program start date. Or if possible, another date may be arranged for extenuating circumstances. All date changes will be made at the time and convenience of Modern English, Inc. If instructor has an extreme emergency or severe illness, all money will be refunded promptly for any portion of unused time or services.
9. Any changes to this contract with terms and conditions must be discussed and agreed upon by both parties in writing on this actual Modern English, Inc. contract page. This includes the optional second weekend. This additional room, board, and activities are described below on this page.

*A security/key deposit of $55 is to be paid upon arrival and will be returned to you at the end of your stay. No deposit, no key, and vice versa. Any minor damages, loss or money owed will be deducted from this small deposit. This deposit can also act as
entitlement to stay at the villa part of the second weekend. If that option is used it is not refundable since it acts as a payment for extra room and board.
