The instructor has extensive experience in the teaching and learning of languages. She has also been educated in Language Teaching Techniques. She has a Master's of Art Degree from New York University, in Manhattan. She graduated from N.Y.U.'s School of Education in 1992 with an A average. She majored in English Language Teaching or TESL. At N.Y.U., she studied such courses as the Methods of Language Teaching, the Stages of Language Acquisition, Linguistics and Grammar. She also taught in New York City Public Schools for five years as an English language or ESL teacher, where she got experience teaching multi cultural groups. She has permanent certification in the state of New York to teach English as a Second Language on all levels and to all ages. Aside from language teaching experience, she has language learning experience as well. She studied Italian in Florence Italy during her junior year of college, as an undergraduate at the University of Maryland. That year in Florence, she became fluent in Italian. She also studied abroad at Georgetown University's Summer Study Abroad Program in Fiesole, Italy. This was a summer Italian program also offered in a villa in Italy. It was these combined experiences that lead her to the idea and development of her "Live & Learn Italian" Program. She has been running the "Live & Learn Italian" Program since 1998. |
