7. A beautiful old church is located in the center of town and main square. An old tall clock tower is in the center square and characteristic of every Italian village. This clocktower rings every thirty minutes from sunrise to sundown. The bell chimes are beautiful and characteristic of Italian towns.
8. A summer festival is held in Arba usually from the end of July to mid August. This festival is held in a huge field in the center of town. It lasts about 3 weeks and runs every weekend, mostly from Thursday night to Sunday night. It draws hundreds of people from the surrounding villages and brings home Italian immigrants who ventured off to other countries throughout Europe and the world. There is plenty of entertainment including live music, dancing, games, rides and picnic style eating. Food booths sell grilled chicken, fried calamari, sausages, ribs, polenta, pasta , wine, beer, etc.!!! At other times during the spring, summer and fall there are outside festivals in nearby towns.
9. If you have military connections, the Aviano American Airforce Base is less than an hour from Arba. Some like to take advantage of this if they have a car. Laundry can be done cheaply there. Otherwise, the maid can do it.
10. Surounding Arba is a lot of beautiful countryside with spectacular views of the Alps; the Dolomites. It is a great idea to have a daily routine of walks or picnics, enjoying a view of these mountains. They are breathtaking!
